A reliable telecoms infrastructure relies on a complex network of communication masts, antennas, cables, amplifiers to provide seamless connectivity. However, these structures often co-exist alongside trees, which can cause problems for both the telecommunications equipment and the trees themselves.
The owners of trees have a legal duty of care to remove or trim any tree that interferes with, or is likely to interfere with, an aerial telecommunications line.
You may receive notification from EonFibre that the condition of the tree(s) or plants and the potential problems caused by this. This letter will ask you to contact us at AccessNetworkEngineers@eonfibre.nz
Always Check with your council to see if the tree is protected. Working near power lines is dangerous, so you must arrange for an approved contractor to trim trees within 4m of your service line. Refer to your power company and always follow WorkSafe rules
