EonFibre Ethernet Backhaul is a digital data transport service specifically designed for inter PoP connectivity. It is a Layer 2 NNI to NNI VPN offering.
E-backhaul will provide transport of customer traffic encapsulated in Ethernet frames and is intended to be used primarily to provide backhaul linking between third party Points of Interconnect (POIs) or between POIs and nominated EonFibre Points of Presence (PoPs) where EonFibre has deployed Provider Edge switching/routing equipment.
POI and PoP locations may include:
With Ethernet Backhaul customers can interconnect standard Ethernet Local Area Network (LAN) interfaces (1G/10Gbit/s/100Gbit/s*) within or between New Zealand cities. Both full rate and sub-rate service bandwidths are supported.
Ethernet Backhaul services can be used standalone providing connectivity between service providers' networks or as an intermediate componment, combining with a Wholesale customer’s own network facilities or services to provide a unique service to their end user.
Ethernet Backhaul is well suited to high-capacity converged networking applications where a mixture of traffic types (e.g. voice, video and data) must co-exist. Customers are able to prioritise traffic using up to four different Classes of Service (CoS). Hierarchical Quality of Service (QoS) capabilities present in the network elements permit differentiated treatment of traffic types crossing the network.
EonFibre’s E-backhaul service offers the simplicity, scalability and affordability of Ethernet for your mission critical Metro, National and International backhaul linking requirements.
Built on the EonFibre converged packet network Ethernet backhaul services are engineered to high industry standards. Multiple diverse fibre paths coupled with advanced MPLS traffic engineering creates a self-healing network for high service availability.
EonFibre's PoPs are distributed nation-wide and we have presence in major New Zealand UFB POIs, Data Centres and peering locations.
Available with 1Gbit/s, 10Gbit/s, and 100Gbit/s ports, Ethernet backhaul supports sub-rate bandwidths meaning you only pay for the bandwidth you need. Bandwidth can be adjusted rapidly up or down to meet changing circumstances.
The MPLS pseudo-wire technology used to build backhaul services aids customer instances to be kept secure and provide complete transparency of customer VLAN ID and VLAN CoS values.
Ethernet Backhaul is flat rate based on service bandwidth and charge zone. It offers 7 bandwidth steps locally and nationally.
