Damage to our network can be costly but it is easily avoidable. We provide a free service through beforeUdig so you can request plans that show where our underground network cables are located. Find out more about preventing damage to our network.

How to report damage to the EonFibre network

To report damage to our network, cut cables, damaged cabinets, or pillars, please call us on 0800 777 770 to report it. It's important to contact us right away rather than attempting to hide or repair the damage yourself.

Safety first: Why professional repairs matter

Communications cables can carry potentially damaging laser light or voltages exceeding 100 volts. Even if there's no obvious wire or fibre breakage, moisture could penetrate an incorrectly patched cable, causing disruption to phone and/or broadband services.

Accidental damage to underground or aerial network

If you cause damage to our network including cable sheath or duct line damage, please leave the damage section exposed or the excavation open call us immediately so we can undertake a repair.

The cost implications of damage to our network

If cable damage has been caused by irresponsibility or negligence, we will bill the organisation or individual responsible. Repair costs can range from $20,000 to more than $750,000 so it pays to take care.
